Whisky Discovery #102

Benromach Organic Special Edition NAS (43%)
Speyside Single Malt
Circa £34.00 70cl

The Benromach Organic
This was my final dram at The Whisky Lounge London Fest and the one that recently replaced the original ‘Organic’ Benromach.

The whole process ' raw ingredients, distillation, maturation and bottling ' is certified to the rigorous standards set by the UK Soil Association.

The whisky is matured in virgin American oak casks from environmentally managed forests. This limited edition bottling of Benromach Organic is made using the finest Scottish organic barley, dried using peat smoke, to produce an organic Speyside Single Malt which displays a distinctly smoky character.

Benromach whisky is hand crafted using the finest Scottish barley and the purest spring water from the nearby Romach Hills. Once the casks are filled they are transferred to the traditional dunnage-style warehouses to start maturation. They will be stowed no more than three casks high on traditional wooden rails over an earthen floor.

Again thanks to Benromach for the photo. Another smashing Speyside: Light and fruity on the nose with a slight smoky note. Mouth warming and a more distinctive peaty taste, with sweet cream toffee. This will be on my shelf soon I think!
